Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
Compiles routine financial information to prepare reports relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, ande xpenditures. Assists with the preparation of income statements and balance sheets, profit and loss statements, consolidated statements, and other accounting statements and reports in accordance with
corporate policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs routine accounting tasks. Prepares accounting journal entries for posting to the general andv arious other ledgers to ensure proper accounting of expenses and revenue.
- Assists in the review of accounting reports for area operations.
- Assists with extracting and compiling data to prepare monthly financial statements and comparative reports, account reconciliations, and cost reports.
- Prepares ad hoc management reports as needed.
- Maintains required records, reports, and files.
- Participates on cross-functional project teams.
- Remains current on all government regulations affecting finance and accounting procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous (1-3 years) accounting experience required. Entry level for employees with Bachelor’s Degree.
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures, theories, and applications.
- Proficient with spreadsheet software and accounting systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical and report writing skills required.
